Born in New Orleans, Duplessis found an affinity to working with textiles early in life. She began sewing at the age of seven after her grandmother bought her first pattern. 

She has been on a journey to bridge together ancestral healing and cyclical behaviors with spools of thread in hopes to heal traumas by envisioning them outside the body. She works with patterns of fiber, textiles and patch-working to unwind the cyclical, genealogical and environmental patterning of her history.
